Play for P.I.N.K. was organized by a group of women in 1996 at Alpine Country Club in northern New Jersey, when one woman was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her illness prompted the creation of a golf tournament in her honor so that the proceeds could go to breast cancer research. The tournament was so successful that it became an annual event at Alpine, and soon friends at neighboring country clubs began hosting the Play for P.I.N.K. tournaments.

The following year, six clubs held Play for P.I.N.K. fundraising tournaments and raised $77,000!

Since then, our groups of volunteers and participants have spread across the United States! We are playing golf, tennis, cards, and swimming to raise money for our sole beneficiary, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Over the past ten years, participation has grown to almost 200 events nationwide!

On October 29, 2009, we presented a check for $3,000,000 to Evelyn H. Lauder, Founder and Chairman of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Total contributions are now at $18.75 million to help in the fight against breast cancer!
